Probe Enhances Sensitivity
The RFP-460 multipass Raman probe enhances sensitivity in Raman spectroscopy when used to analyze gases and clear liquids. Improved performance is made possible by combining the multi-pass approach with advances in interference filter technology, which combines mid-IR-spectroscopy specificity with NIR convenience and flexibility. A focused laser beam causes a condensed substance to emit a spectrum of optical radiation that is related to its molecular structure. Because Raman scattering is an extremely weak phenomenon and is made practical by the high energy density of the focused laser beam, very little attenuation of the laser signal takes place.
