Systems Automate Hardness Testers
The Minuteman ELT series of semi- and fully automatic systems is suited for Knoop, Vickers and Rockwell hardness testing. Available in four versions, the series provides a range of features to suit microindentation and Rockwell-scale testing needs. The entry level ELT1, intermediate ELT2, and fully automatic ELT3 are suitable for the Tukon microindentation testers while the ELT4 version is suited for Rockwell and MicroRockwell testers. When used on a microindentation tester, the upgradeable system allows users to start with a low-cost, basic version and progress to one that is fully automatic as their needs and budget change. The entry level ELT1 is a video filar system for measuring the indents on the computer’s monitor using a virtual joystick for easy on-screen operation. This improves the measuring process by eliminating eye-fatigue errors, which are common when doing manual microscope measurements. The systems feature complete computer control of the tester for hands-off operations.
